Lumina felt fear wash over her, and she paced around her cage anxiously. “I’ve got to get outta here!” she growled, scratching the floor of her cage. It was a futile attempt but she was too frighten of the Professor to care.
“What’s all that noise?” a voice said. Lumina stopped for a second to look up and saw a towering human that turned out to be the Professor. Her pupils shrunk and she started scratching even faster, desperate to get away.
“Get me out! Someone!” she cried out in terror.
“What’s with all the yowling and meowing? Don’t tell met that my big kitty is scared like a little kitty!” she baby-talked as he knelt down to her cage, laughing at his own joke. Lumina immediately hid at the darkest and farthest corner of the cage.
“It’s alright; I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to see how you turned out.” The Professor said in a calming voice as he took out a piece of raw beef from his lab coat. Lumina sniffed at the meat and licked her lips. “C’mon out and you an have this,” whispered the Professor. She took a couple of steps forward, stopped then finally she cautiously stepped out of her cage as the Professor opened the door and carefully ate it from his hand. The Professor gently stroked her as she ate. He then stood up and walked to the door. “I’ll give you more if you follow me.”
More? There’s more?? Hmm… maybe this guy isn’t as bad as I thought he would be… Lumina thought as she trotted over to him, this made the Professor surprised.
“Wow… it’s like you understood me,” said the Professor as he led her to an examination room to get a blood sample from her and inspect on how she turned out the way she did.
A couple of hours later, Mai walked in with both Emmy and Rain and placed them in their cages. “Good night! I’ll see you two in the morning!” she said in a cheerful voice and closed the door behind her. The moment that she left, they started to talk.
“That place was so strange… I’ve never seen anything like it! Emmy said.
“Yeah… there was so much to see, and then I had a hard time finding you because you blend in with those tall yellow lines so well!” said Rain.
If only Lumina was there to see what we saw.”
“Speaking of Lumi, why didn’t she come outside with us?”
“And where is she anyways?”

The sound of the doorknob was heard and in walked the Professor with Lumina padding behind him. He put Lumina in her cage and handed her another piece of meat. “I’ll see tomorrow Lumina.” she meowed in respond. He smiled and walked out locking the door.

“Hey Lumina!” Emmy waved.
“Hi!” Lumina replied excitedly.
“Who was that labcoat?” Rain asked.
“Oh, him? That was the Professor. He’s really nice; he’s always giving me these delicious treats,” said Lumina, licking her lips at the thought of the raw beef, thought she just ate one. “Where did you two go?”
“We explored a place that’s called ‘nature’. It was fun actually, though we got a little lost…” Rain laughed embarrassingly
“‘We’?” Emmy looked at Rain, her eyebrow lifted up in suspicion. “I don’t think so; you were the one who can never find me!”
“Whatever,” grumbled Rain. She turned to Lumina and said, “What did you do?”
“The Professor examined me, while I was getting lots of treats. He keeps on wondering why I have a moon and star marking on my forehead… though I never even knew that I had a birthmark on my forehead.” Replied Lumina, rubbing her forehead with her paw.
The three friends exchanged information about their days for a few minutes longer, then Emmy and Lumina realized that Rain had fallen asleep. Laughing at her quietly, they also curled up and drifted off to sleep.
